Wastewater & Leachate
Operational performance
Our modular process is designed to remove COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) and BOD (Biological Oxygen Demand) by microbiological oxidation. The process can also be optimised for removal of ammonia (NH3-N) via bacterial nitrification, or of total nitrogen, via an anoxic stage.
Depending on the nature of the leachate or wastewater, BOD removal is expected to be >90%, and treated wastewater after the clarification stage would meet <25 mg/l BOD and <5 mg/l NH3-N, with suspended solids <10 mg/l. The process can be adjusted and controlled to meet environmental permitting regulations whilst optimising operational costs.
The process is designed for minimal manual intervention and simplicity of maintenance.
Although feed flow rate and wastewater contaminant levels dictate the level of treatment, typically the process will treat volumetric flows in the range 2.5 to 250 m3/day.
