CELLRUPTOR
RAPID NON-EQUILIBRIUM DECOMPRESSION (RnD)®.
The CELLRUPTOR process dramatically improves the
operational and economic dynamics of treating waste-water and sewage sludge using anaerobic digestion.

It has long been recognized that the transporting of sludge containing water, works against the economical operation of a Waste Water & Sludge Treatment Works. It has also been determined that increasing the BOD – Biological Oxygen Demand - load on an anærobic digester enhances gas production. As a result, several cell disruption technologies, based on high shear and sonic pulses, have been tried. They have, however, proven to be expensive and have not fully matched expectations.
To address this problem ECO-SOLIDS INTERNATIONAL LIMITED has developed the CELLRUPTOR technology - rapid non-equilibrium decompression (RnD)®

The %solids resulting from this process increases from the conventional 18-22% to greater than 25% solids, due to the small particle size.
The other major advantage of Cellruptor is that the cost of the Cellruptor equipment can be justified by a rapid pay-back period of well within two years.
The process is simple and effective in enhancing the reduction of
volatile solids and increase in overall gas generation, without the energy requirement and operational problems plaguing current sonic technologies.
ECO-SOLIDS INTERNATIONAL LIMITED is currently implementing
independently monitored trials linking Cellruptor to a full-scale, commercially operating anærobic
digester, in co-operation with several water treatment companies based in Great Britain and with the support of Earth Tech, the
international environmental consulting and contracting engineers.
Eco-Solids International has signed an agreement with Yorkshire Water to start the world’s first commercial scale trials of the Bug Buster technology at their Old Whittington Sewage Treatment Works at Chesterfield in Yorkshire, Great Britain. The trials are being managed by Eco-Solids’s engineering partner Earth Tech Engineering (www.earthtech.co.uk) and independently monitored by the Imperial College, London who will be producing a report on the project.
ECO-SOLIDS INTERNATIONAL LIMITED is in the process of introducing CELLRUPTOR to the world-wide market and will
be offering units upon successful completion of the trials.
